For many years the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) has been the gateway for Italian culture to San Francisco and the Bay Area. It is the a great meeting place for intellectuals and artists, for professionals working with cultural organizations and events, and for members of the public interested in culture. Propelling a wide range of cultural initiatives and events in art, music, cinema, theatre, dance, fashion, design, photography and more, the IIC – both the global network and San Francisco location – has become an essential point of reference for the ever-growing exchange between Italy and the US.

For just one example of the many cultural experiences the IIC facilitates, check out this video of “Italians and Americans: How We See Each Other - A talk with Beppe Severgnini”. What a great night that was.

The IIC owes its enduring legacy to the many individuals who share a passion for Italy. We come from all walks of life, but what unites us is the desire to invest in inspiring the next generation, preserving the culture and providing the foundation for a better and more interesting way of life. If you have attended an event, taken a language class, or just told your friends about Italy, you have strengthened our community and supported a unique Bay Area institution.
