Text12 NovItalian Language Growing in Momentum in Seattle
image

Please join me in welcoming a newer Italian school to Seattle, percorsoItaliano, an organization run by Italian natives living in Seattle who are eager to share their passion for their native language and culture. The school was founded by Roberta Tauriello Torgerson in 2011, in collaboration with Elisabetta Valentini. Since then the school has grown at a healthy clip, offering classes, hosting events and facilitating a deeper connection between Italian culture and the city of Seattle.

At percorsoItaliano, the focus is on practical and realistic Italian as spoken in everyday conversation. The teachers encourages spontaneous conversation emphasizing correct pronunciation, and Italian is spoken from the first day of class. Students learn and practice grammar and conversation using films, literature, art, cooking and games. To ensure the environment is relaxed and fun, class sizes are limited to 4-6 students.
